The food was good. Services was good too. We got the fried calamari, chicken skewers, empanadas and the red sangria pitcher. I
Overview
Walking into Firefly Tapas Kitchen & Bar - Southwest* for the first time felt less like visiting a restaurant and more like stepping into a lively neighborhood gathering spot where food, conversation, and atmosphere naturally blend. Iโve eaten tapas all over Las Vegas, from the Strip to hidden local gems, and this location at 7355 S Buffalo Dr Suite 7, Las Vegas, NV 89113, United States consistently delivers the kind of experience that keeps regulars coming back. On one visit with friends, we ordered half the menu โjust to try,โ and somehow every plate disappeared faster than expected, which says a lot.
The menu is designed for sharing, and thatโs where Firefly really shines. Tapas-style dining isnโt just about smaller portions; itโs about pacing, variety, and interaction. Studies from the National Restaurant Association show that shared-plate dining increases guest satisfaction by encouraging social engagement, and Fireflyโs approach proves that in real life. Dishes arrive in a steady rhythm, allowing you to taste, talk, and linger. From sizzling seafood to richly seasoned meats and vegetarian-friendly options, the flavors stay bold without feeling heavy. One server explained how the kitchen focuses on balance, using acid, spice, and texture so no dish overwhelms the palate.
Iโve spoken with a few longtime locals who treat this spot as their go-to for birthdays and casual celebrations, and their reviews echo the same themes: consistency, welcoming service, and food that feels thoughtfully prepared. According to publicly available dining data from platforms like Yelp and Google Reviews, restaurants that maintain strong repeat visitation usually succeed because of staff training and kitchen systems. Fireflyโs team follows a structured prep process where sauces and marinades are prepared daily, which helps maintain quality even during busy weekend nights.
The bar program deserves its own praise. While Iโm no mixologist, Iโve worked alongside beverage managers in past hospitality roles, and I recognize a well-built cocktail menu when I see one. Firefly leans into fresh ingredients and classic techniques, which aligns with recommendations from the United States Bartendersโ Guild. Cocktails arrive balanced and refreshing, not overly sweet, and the wine selection pairs well with the menuโs diverse flavors. On one visit, the bartender walked us through a pairing suggestion that elevated a simple tapas plate into something memorable.
What also stands out is how approachable the atmosphere feels. You donโt need to be a food expert to enjoy yourself here. The staff explains dishes clearly, answers questions without rushing, and adapts recommendations based on dietary preferences. That level of transparency builds trust, especially for diners who may be new to tapas-style dining. Of course, no restaurant is perfect, and during peak hours the wait for a table can stretch longer than expected. Still, most guests agree the experience is worth a little patience.
From a broader industry perspective, Firefly reflects a growing shift toward experiential dining. Hospitality researchers from Cornell University have noted that modern diners value ambiance and service nearly as much as food quality, and this restaurant manages to combine all three. Its Southwest location makes it accessible without the chaos of the Strip, which many locals appreciate.
Between the thoughtfully curated menu, the inviting bar, and the steady stream of positive reviews, Firefly has earned its reputation as a reliable favorite. Whether youโre meeting friends, planning a date night, or just craving something different from the usual dining routine, this spot delivers an experience that feels genuine, flavorful, and rooted in real hospitality.

Take all my money !!! vegetarian option galore I ended up getting the brussels sprouts and the heart of palm crabcakes, which were more than satisfying the hibiscus margarita will definitely have you in your feelings will be returning sooner than later
Endless delicious options and the cocktails are on point! We frequent both Las Vegas locations and we are never disappointed. Best Sangria in the city!
The menu features a plethora of delicious options. We sampled several tapas and every bite was delicious. The star of the show was undoubtedly the scallops "escargot"โscallops baked in garlic butter and topped with breadcrumbs. I wouldn't eat here again without having that dish! Reasonable prices, comfortable environment, and the service was excellent. A young man named Jesus took very good care of us. Highly recommended for a fabulous dinner.
Good food, quick delivery of food to table after ordering. Check for daily specials. They are a good value. Service level was great when we arrived, but feel off due to under staffing at busy times. May check out sitting at the bar next visit. Outdoor seating is nice when it is cooler. Was not an option for us on the last visit as it was too hot. It is shaded and some did sit there as the temps dropped. We liked it on a previous visit
LV local and Iโve been frequenting this location for the last seven years. Originally I had given them a 3 โญ review due to the fact that they asked me and a group of customers to leave after 90 minutes and we found that off putting. I was entertaining as a salesperson and this negatively impacted my business. I did speak to a manager about it and that rigid policy seems to have changed over the last few years. Thankfully management listened to their loyal customers. This place has very good and consistent food and drinks. My favs are the bacon wrapped dates, meatballs and calamari. The Happy Hour prices are very reasonable and my girlfriend and I can have 2-3 taps plus 2-3 drinks for under $100 which is a great value. My only reason for 4 stars โญ instead of 5 is that they donโt often vary the drink or tapas menus. Itโs been the same menu since Iโve been eating there for the last seven years. Please offer a new drink of the month and tapas entree of the month to Happy Hour. Otherwise it gets a little stale eating the same things every time.
